HACCPHACCP is the abbreviation of "Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points". This abbreviation is used internationally for a system of preventive measures used for ensuring that foods and nutrients are safe in terms of human health, applied in all activities related to production, processing, storage, handling, carriage, and sale to the end user. The HACCP system indicates the means and processes required to prevent against risks threatening the consumer, before they can become manifest. Above all, a properly implemented and functioning HACCP system reduces the risk to the consumer’s health and protects the manufacturer and vendor in the event of a damage claim for injury to health. Certification of the HACCP system is always verified and awarded by qualified external auditors, on the basis of an audit of several days in all areas concerned by the system. Since 2004, LEROS has held the HACCP certificate and the ISO 9001:2008, and in 2008, both certificates were successfully renewed in the re-certification process.
